What Does It Mean for Sprint Cross Country Series?
On January 8, 2021, Trail Pros; promoter for SXCS, made the announcement that they, along with members of the SXCS team, would be taking steps to start another AMA Featured Off-Road Series called US SPRINT ENDURO.
It all started with the unexpected announcement on December 18th, that the Full Gas Sprint Enduro Series would be closing down and no longer running races. Trail Pros founder, Billy Schlag has been a long time competitor in that series and had been planning to continue to race it this year, however with this announcement he shifted gears. Shifting Gears:
US SPRINT ENDURO will be “Answering the call” or “Filling the void” creating a Premiere Sprint Enduro Series!
US SPRINT ENDURO will ultimately elevate SXCS and its Racers! The SXCS set up will be getting a facelift, which we are super stoked about and can’t wait for our SXCS Community to see and be a part of. This is also an opportunity for our SXCS Racers to be a part of 2 AMA Featured Series! You will notice that we have made some adjustments to our classes to make them more cohesive between the two series. There are a couple of other small changes that you will notice on the shared race days, however all and all its going to be even better then it already was!
US SPRINT ENDURO will offer Six Rounds of racing. Three of those rounds will be co-sanctioned with SXCS. While US Sprint Enduro races are 2 days of racing, SXCS will be only 1 day racing (Sunday’s), however if you want to race the entire weekend you would sign up through US SPRINT ENDURO. Points will be tabulated for both series… which means you can potentially trophy in both series!
